The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in cooperation with the Spanish Agency for international Development Cooperation (AECID), the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is supporting the fifteen ECOWAS Member States in the development of the National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs). The activity is also supported by the GEF Strategic Programme for West Africa (GEF-SPWA).
The ECOWAS Renewable Energy Policy (EREP), which was developed with support from the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) and other partners, foresees the development of National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs) by the end of 2014, in the fifteen (15) ECOWAS Member States. The NREAPs will include a national renewable energy benchmark and propose attainable targets which contribute to the regional targets of the EREP.
In this context, ECREEE is seeking for technical support from fifteen (15) national energy consultants (one from each ECOWAS country), to assist the respective Ministries of Energy in the development of the NREAPs.
